As I am from Hermiston, Oregon, I feel blessed to be playing with the wonderful musicians in Bells Of the Desert. My lifelong passion for music started by playing piano at age 10 and continued by accompanying and singing in middle school, high school, and college. In college I also played piano for the Eastern Oregon State University Jazz band and choirs and before I retired from teaching elementary school I was able to direct musicals, accompany musicals, and accompany all music programs provided by the schools where I taught. But my music didn’t stop there. Throughout the course of 40 plus years I played piano for the Hermiston First Presbyterian Church, the Hermiston First Christian Church, as well as the Hermiston First United Methodist Church. It wasn’t until seven years ago, at the Methodist Church, I discovered my passion for playing the handbells. This is the beginning of my 2nd year playing with Bells of the Desert and I hope to have many more years of ringing ahead. Besides music I love to quilt ( piecing and quilting), read, bake pastries, craft, and spend time with my family.
